Certification. Quality of architecture, of buildings, of the environment. This is and will continue to be the hallmark of our identity. This commitment has earned us certification in the following standards, issued by the ICCL Institute (accredited by ENAC):

ISO 9001:2008

Recognizes that, at sitag, we have developed and are applying a management system based on the identification, appreciation and management of interrelated processes that contribute to our firm’s effectiveness and efficiency in working toward our objectives. This system is based on continuous improvements to our work and results, to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations and the end product.

ISO 14001:2004

Recognizes that, at sitag, we have developed and are applying a management system that includes environmental goals and objectives, policies and procedures for achieving those goals, clearly defined responsibilities, personnel training activities, documentation, and a system that monitors any changes and advances that are made.

Modelo EFITECNIC

This model is specific to quality assurance and efficiency in the management of technical offices. It includes a specific form of cost control as an essential aspect of the management process and defines specific indicators for each key aspect of our work.

Quality Policy:

A great subject truly, for it embraces the consideration of the whole external surroundings of the life of man; we cannot escape from it if we would so long as we are part of civilisation, for it means the moulding and altering to human needs of the very face of the earth itself, except in the outermost desert.

(The Prospects of Architecture in Civilization”, conference given at the London Institution on 10 March 1881 and compiled in the book, On Art and Socialism, London, 1947)

The management at sitag ARQUITECTURA sees the professional practice of architecture as a commitment to society. At our organization, this requires architects to lead building construction processes and the consequent “moulding of the whole external surroundings of the life of man”, as aptly illustrated by the words of William Morris. This is both a privilege and a great responsibility.

Assuming this responsibility led us to the decision to set up a process-based management system, with the intention of equipping ourselves with an effective tool that would drive us toward a process for the ongoing, continuous improvement of the quality of all our services and products that we at the firm offer to our clients.

Quality, responsibility and commitment to society are the three keys on which hangs the Quality Policy that sitag ARQUITECTURA decided to put into practice, the basic principles and orientation of which are set out in this document.

In this respect, our adoption of the requirements of standards ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004, and the ensuing set-up of a management system compliant with those standards, can be considered as a logical step forward, consistent with the philosophy and the principles that have traditionally guided our firm along its path. The firm, under the leadership of Ramón Corrochano Casares, counts more than 30 years of professional experience, ever faithful to the principles of commitment to our clients and to the quality of our planned architectural solutions.

The Quality Policy, adopted with the intentions outlined above, has a threefold orientation. Its main lines are described in the following paragraphs, presented in the order in which each point appears in the policy.

1. Customer-centric quality: Customer satisfaction is our business’s most basic objective. Our services and products must strictly conform to the client’s requirements, which must always be identified in advance of performance of the service, approved by the client during the service, and assessed on completion.

2. User-centric quality: In most instances, given the longevity, the broad scale and the urban nature of our buildings, architectural clients are typically not the end users of the finished construction. That being the case, it falls to the architect to fulfil the social function of protecting the interests of the end users, and of society in general. This is the point for which William Morris’s humanistic point of view finds its full meaning. Respect for the environment, the ergonomics and, in short, the design of buildings that enhance that lives of their users, are core concepts in how we assess the quality of our work.

3. End product (building)-centric quality: The function of architecture is eminently technical, which is why a commitment to good construction practices is vital. The technical suitability of the adopted solutions, their proportionality and the use of the optimal means of achieving the targeted results are essential components of the quality of our services. Whenever possible, it is best to adopt new technological solutions that will facilitate the necessary technical advancement of our profession.

The key tool for the simultaneous fulfilment of this threefold orientation is the legal framework that limits and develops our business. Because of that, we are committed to fulfilling and ensuring the fulfilment of all requirements, both legal and regulatory, affecting the business activities of sitag ARQUITECTURA.

With those guidelines in mind, and from that moment forward, we made a formal commitment to leading our organization toward the attainment of the defined quality and environmental objectives, thereby promoting integrated management by any useful means. To that end, we will establish, implement and maintain a process-based management system that will periodically be revised and improved, and we will give the organization the information and resources that we need to put our Quality Policy into effect.

Environmental Policy:

The management at sitag ARQUITECTURA sees the professional practice of architecture as a commitment to society. At our organization, this requires architects to lead building construction processes and the consequent “moulding of the whole external surroundings of the life of man”, as aptly illustrated by the words of William Morris. For this reason, within the framework of our firm’s quality management system, we decided to establish an Environmental Policy that would guarantee the alignment of those processes with the requirements of standard ISO 14001:2004.

The key tool that an architect has to hand in order to help improve the environment is the project. Construction processes mean a major transformation of the physical environment, which, because of its scale and reach, can in turn have a significant environmental impact. Architectural projects allow us to anticipate the consequences of those changes and plan the necessary measures to ensure that they are not detrimental but rather, on the contrary, actually constitute an improvement from an ecological perspective. And this advance planning pertains to every phase of the building’s life cycle, from breaking ground to the end of its useful life, by way of its in-service phase.

For that reason, sitag ARQUITECTURA’s Environmental Policy is resolutely oriented toward eco-design, meaning the systematic incorporation of environmental aspects into each building’s design, with the aim of reducing any negative impacts on the surrounding environment throughout its life cycle. This primarily involves energy consumption, environmental impact assessments, the life cycle and recycling of the materials employed, and the treatment of the waste produced both during the construction phase and at the end of the building’s useful life.

Additionally, with this Environmental Policy set within the framework of our quality management system, the management team at sitag ARQUITECTURA has formalized our commitment to zero contamination and to the continuous improvement of our firm’s environmental performance. Likewise, we are expressly committed to fulfilling all legal rules on the environment, as they pertain to our business.

With those guidelines in mind, and from that moment forward, we made a formal commitment to leading our organization toward the attainment of the defined quality and environmental objectives, thereby promoting integrated management by any useful means. To that end, we will establish, implement and maintain a process-based management system that will periodically be revised and improved, and we will give the organization the information and resources that we need to put our Environmental Policy into effect.
